"...What became noticable to me... was the "wannabe" nature of the bass player Tim..."

Tim Commerford, a.k.a. Timmy C., Tim Bob, Simmering T, etc. is the bassist for Audioslave, and from 1991-2000 played for Rage Against the Machine. After a quick glance at any of his basslines, you can tell that he's a talented musician, typically mixing metal with jazz, slap-funk and the thundering monster-rock of the 70's. Below is a brief bio:

Tim grew up in Southern California, and while in elementary school met Zach de la Rocha. Zach soon discovered his tastes for music, and convinced Tim to learn the bass guitar. As a teenager, Tim described himself as "a hermit." He spent a lot of time locked up in his room, playing the bass and not much else. After Zach's previous bands Hardstance and Inside Out went nowhere, he hooked up with Tom Morello and Brad Wilk in 1991, and asked Tim to complete the new band, named Rage Against the Machine. Between '91 and 2000, Rage played numerous shows, including Lolapalooza and Woodstock '99, recieved many awards, and released 3 original albums - Rage Against the Machine (1992), Evil Empire (1996), and The Battle of Los Angeles (1999), plus an album of cover songs called Renegades (2000). Before Renegades was released, Zach left the band, saying that their creative process had broken down, and the other members agreed. In 2001 Tim, Brad and Tom hooked up with Chris Cornell, and decided to form a band, which they eventually named Audioslave. Their history has just begun, with the release of their first album in 2002, but I'm sure we can expect lots of hard rock and deep funk to come.

Tim in the Media - this is a collection of the various news articles, album reviews and biographies that predominately feature Tim. I've left out the Rage/Audioslave pieces that only mention him. Of course, if you have one that I've missed, please e-mail me.

Below are some bass tabs that I puzzled out. I know I'm no expert, so I make no guarantees of acuracy. If you can't find the song you're looking for, try the Complete RATM site. Unfortunatly, I'm still working on Audioslave tab and Evil Empire era tab at the same time, so it might take a while. And ofcource, I welcome corrections and additions at my e-mail address buttcrust420@mail.com

Here are a few of the pictures of Tim that I've found on the internet. I've ommitted the low-quality ones and the ones where he's kinda in the background, and the one where they're all naked at Lollapalooza, cause no one needs to see that.
